Q: What is the difference between vegan and vegetarian?
Vegan: No animal products used, which includes fish, dairy, eggs, even honey.
Vegetarian: Dairy and eggs are allowed.
Q: What is Tempeh?
Tempeh is a fermented soybean and brown rice patty.
Q: Does tempeh bacon really taste like bacon?
Our tempeh bacon is marinated in water, liquid aminos, liquid smoke and maple syrup to give it a slightly sweet and smoky flavor that tastes very similar to bacon.
Q: What is the difference between the tempeh bacon in the TLT sandwich vs. the tempeh in the All Day Tempeh sandwich?
The tempeh bacon is thinner and crispy with a smoky flavor. The All Day Tempeh is marinated in water, liquid aminos, liquid smoke, maple syrup, Cayenne pepper and paprika. It is a thicker patty, slightly smoky and sweet, with a touch of heat.
Q: What are Zoodles?
Zoodles are zucchini noodles made with a spiralizer.
Q: What is vegan cheese made from?
Vegan cheese can be made from a variety of ingredients, including soy protein, solidified vegetable oil (like coconut, palm, or safflower) nutritional yeast, thickening agar flakes, nuts (including cashews, macadamias, and almonds), tapioca flour and natural enzymes. We get our vegan Smoked Gouda, Provolone, and American cheese from a fantastic company called Follow Your Heart that has been making great tasting, health-conscious foods since the 1970s. We source our vegan Mozzarella from Miyoko’s, founded by award-winning vegan chef Miyoko Schinner, whose groundbreaking book ‘Artisan Vegan Cheese’ kicked off the vegan cheese revolution.
Q: What is vegan milk made from?
We use cashews and make our own Cashew Mylk. Ingredients: cashews, water, vanilla, dates, salt
Q: What is in the Black Bean Burger other than black beans?
Our Black Bean Burgers are made from black beans, grains and seeds, and mushrooms
Q: Does the Tuna Chick taste like tuna?
It doesn’t taste like tuna, but it has the feeling and consistency of tuna with a tasty flavor. Ingredients include dill, golden raisins, walnuts, veganaise, onions, and celery.
Q: What is Veganaise?
Veganaise is a mayonnaise substitute which tastes just like the real thing! We use Follow Your Heart Original Veganaise. Ingredients: (gluten-free, dairy-free, non-GMO): expeller-pressed canola oil, filtered water, brown rice syrup, apple cider vinegar, soy protein, sea salt, mustard flour, lemon juice concentrate (contains soy).
Q: What is the seed and spice blend?
Our Seed and Spice Blend includes pine nuts, pistachios, sesame seeds, coriander, cumin, salt and pepper
Q: What are sprouts?
Sprouts are young baby plant foods and the first indication that a plant has sprouted. That seed has grown to a certain stage of development but has not become a mature plant.

Q: What is spirulina?
Spirulina is one of the oldest life forms on the earth. It is an organism that grows in both fresh and salt water. Created into a powder and added to elixirs and smoothies, it increases energy, purifies the blood, reduces pain and depression. It contains protein, vitamin B1 (thiamin), vitamin B2 (riboflavin), vitamin B3, copper, and iron, as well as magnesium, potassium, omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids.
Q: Are the oat bowls served cold?
Yes. All of our oat bowls are served cold. It keeps the consistency fresh when accompanied by the many fruit toppings we offer.
Q: How is it even possible to make vegan cheesecake!!?
The main ingredient in our vegan cheesecakes is our house-made Cashew Mylk which is what makes it so creamy. The flavor of cheesecake will determine other ingredients. The crust is made with dates and nuts. The kind of nuts used depends on the flavor of cheesecake. Once all ingredients are mixed and placed in the pan, it sets in the freezer. We do not cook our cheesecakes, which makes them a raw dessert.
